Album von Supermutant kommt

Neues von Zeitstrafe: Am 14. Dezember erscheint die Debüt LP von Supermutant namens "FRVR" bei dem Hamburger Label. Das Video zu "Diamant" stimmt schon mal darauf ein.

Die Band ist übrigens derzeit mit Nagel auf Tour, Termine gibt es beim Klick auf "Weiterlesen".

Touche Amore und Pianos Become The Teeth kündigen Split an

Touche Amore und Pianos Become A Teeth veröffentlichen gemeinsam eine Split-7-inch, die je einen neuen Song der beiden Bands enthält. Es handelt sich um eine Zusammenarbeit von Topshelf Records und Deathwish. Digital wird die Platte am 8. Januar 2013 veröffentlicht, das Vinyl wird am 22. Januar 2013 erhältlich sein. Eine Vorbestellung soll demnächst möglich sein.

Von Deathwish heißt es:

Early 2013 will bring a beautiful pairing of two of the most interesting bands playing melodic hardcore today: Touche Amore and Pianos Become The Teeth. The bands will join forces on an upcoming 7” split, to be co-released by Deathwish Inc and Topshelf Records, out digitally on January 8 and physically on January 22. 

Touche Amore are a thought provoking, passionate band from Los Angeles, CA. Throughout their relentless touring and the release of their album "Parting The Sea Between Brightness and Me", Touche Amore have established themselves as one of the most exciting young bands in contemporary hardcore/punk. 

Here, Touche Amore offer up the exceptional "Gravity, Metaphorically", a stripped down and discordant emotional roller coaster of a song. For over four minutes, Touche Amore rattle and buzz through tempo changes and jangly riffs, as vocalist/lyricist Jeremy Bolm pours out his heart and soul in his trademark way. A poignant step forward for a band that continues to impress with every effort. 

Pianos Become The Teeth are one of the bands leading the latest generation of emotional hardcore/punk. Led by unique vocalist/lyricist Kyle Durfey, they create moving music with a focus on his powerfully poetic story telling capabilities. 

With this release, Pianos Become The Teeth offer up their extraordinary new song "Hiding". Meandering melodic guitar work weaves in and out before Durfey expels "There's no good in your eyes anymore..." telling a weighty and complex tale of the subtle nuances of love and conflict. The song continues to push and pull as emotions do throughout its five minute run. Slowly building only to beautifully crash in a way that only Pianos Become The Teeth can.

Neuer Song von Texas Is The Reason

Texas Is The Reason haben den bisher unveröffentlichten Song "When Rock 'N' Roll Was Just a Baby"bei RollingStone.com zum Anhören bereit gestellt. Es handelt sich um den letzten Song, den die Band aus New York vor ihrer Auflösung 1997 geschrieben hat. Er wird auch auf "Do You Know Who You Are?: The Complete Collection" enthalten sein, einer Retrospektive, die via Revelation Records im Februar erscheint.

Gitarrist Norman Brannon über den Song:

"It was kind of like a Brian Eno 'oblique strategies' thing, where the challenge was to write a pop song that didn't actually have a chorus. We were right on the verge of finally signing with Capitol after a years-long bidding war at that point, and I think we were having a reactionary moment. It was like, 'We won't go quietly!' But I remember Gary Gersh, who was the president of Capitol at the time, told me it it was one of the best songs we've ever written, and that was really one of the first moments where I ever thought our band could actually work beyond the indie-rock world - when the guy who signed Nirvana loved a song without a chorus."

Hancox - Vegas Lights (I Sold My Soul)

Die beiliegende Presse-Info zu "Vegas Light" tut so, als müsste jeder auch nur ansatzweise Musik-Interessierte sofort wissen, wer sich hinter dem Namen Hancox verbirgt. Wenn wir aber mal ganz ehrlich sind, wird da nur bei den allerwenigsten etwas klingeln. Zwar wird dieser Nachname dem einen oder anderen Psychobilly-Fan irgendwas sagen - schließlich war der aus England mittlerweile in die USA übergesiedelte Hancox jahrelang Frontmann der britischen Vorzeige-Psychobillys Guana Batz (und ist es auch immer noch, die Band ist nämlich noch aktiv). Deren größte Erfolge sind allerdings auch schon einige Jahre, wenn nicht Jahrzehnte her - "Vegas Lights" ist also eher Neu-Anfang denn Fortführung einer großen Erfolgsgeschichte.

Neue Musik von Comadre und Green Day

Anfang Januar bringen Comadre ihr neues, selbstbetiteltes Album heraus. Bei AP kann man schon jetzt den darauf enthaltenen Song "Summercide" anhören.

Bei IHeartRadio kann derweil in das in ein paar Tagen erscheinende neue Album von Green Day namens ¡Tré! reingehört werden.
